The website www.mybenefitscalwin.org is convenient to learn about the programs of different areas in medical, food stamps, cash assistance and more. If you want to apply for the public assistance programs on the website, just follow these detailed steps.

Step 1: View Mybenefits

Look at the middle of the page. Press the ‘View Mybenefits’, you will know what the Mybenefits CalWIN allows you to do. Firstly, check your benefits status and amount. Then get started! If you have a Mybenefits account before, just sign in! If you don’t have one, please create a new one to apply for benefits, view benefits, or report changes.

Step 2: See if I Am Eligible

Through this step, you can select your county of residence to see what public assistance programs are available. There will be an application for you to complete to see if you are eligible. If you have a Mybenefits account, just sign in and finish the application. And your information will be saved and you can return to it. If you don’t have an account, the information won’t be saved.

Step 3: Apply for Benefits

It will take you 10 to 20 minutes to finish an application to see if you are allowed to apply for cash aid (CalWORKs), medical services, and CalFresh (Food Stamps) in the county you live. If you have a MybenefitsCalWIN user account, you can apply for all of the 3 programs. If you don’t create a MybenefitsCalWIN user account, you can apply for CalFresh ONLY. And you have to finish the application in the session for it to be sent to the county. Once it’s sent to the county, you won’t have any chance to view it or attach documents.

Step 4: Report My Changes or Renew Benefits

If the report is due in a month while you are receiving your benefits, you can choose to finish your report online or request a replacement report which can be mailed to you. If the renewal is due in this month, you can finish it online.

Step 5: Community Based Organization

CBO can submit applications for the client within the county where the CBO register. If you want to apply for the programs for the others while you are not a CBO, you can turn to the home page to sign in or create a new account.
